HELIX FISHERY

After the ban on sustainable pulse fishing, beam trawl fishermen were forced to revert to traditional tickler chain fishing. Since this method is fuel-intensive, there was a need for a more sustainable alternative without the use of prohibited electricity. This led to the development of Helix fishing, a method with significantly less resistance, seabed disturbance, and fuel consumption. The technique is still in the research phase.

Commissioned by VCU TCD, the RapiD Engineering team completed several impressive engineering tasks during the renovation and new construction of the UK-22 Stella Polaris.

These tasks included:

  • Design and development of the catch processing system.

  • Design, calculation, and development of the net winches.

  • Design, calculation, and development of the fairleads and wire blocks.

Multifunctional fishing vessel Z-575

Commissioned by Werft Shipbuilding, the RapiD Engineering team successfully completed several impressive engineering tasks for the new construction of the Z-575 Janneke.

These tasks included:

  • Design, calculation, and development of the net winches.

  • Design and development of the sterngate. – Design, calculation, and development of the wire blocks.

  • Design and calculation of the mid-weight structure.

Commissioned by VCU Catchmanagement, we had the opportunity to carry out various tasks:

  • Design and development of a swell simulator for adjusting marine scales.

  • Rendering of various products for use on the website and in brochures.

  • Design and development of a new compact marine scale.

Automated salmon processing line designed for Bos Las Techniek

For Bos Las Techniek, we designed a fully automated salmon processing line. A unique feature is the conveyor “highway” that flips the salmon fillets, positioning them perfectly for further processing.
